Glenneisha Darkins, a visual artist from Miami, Fl., had a serious wake-up call in 2010– less than a month before her 19^th birthday. This moment would change her life and the lives of those around her forever.

Darkins was just a college student trying to get home to her family for the holidays when she was struck in a life-threatening car accident that left her quadriplegic.

A quadriplegic is a medical term describing a person who is permanently unable to move or feel both arms and both legs because of injury or illness.
